Indicates whether the organization has written corporate governance policies that have been communicated to stakeholders.
Indicates whether the organization has written corporate governance policies that have been communicated to stakeholders.
Organizations should footnote relevant details about their corporate governance policies and how they are communicated and enforced.
This metric is intended to capture detailed information on the governance policies in place, but it does not evaluate these policies.
Corporate governance is the system by which corporations (whether businesses or nonprofit) are directed and controlled. The corporate governance structure specifies the distribution of rights and responsibilities among different participants in the corporation such as the boards, managers, shareholders, and other stakeholders, and it spells out the rules and procedures for making decisions on corporate affairs. By doing this, it also provides the structure through which the organization's objectives are set, as well as the means of attaining those objectives and monitoring performance.
Metrics identified as "cross-category" are those that are relevant to any IRIS+ Impact Category or Impact Theme (i.e., these metrics are not specific to any particular industry/category or theme).
